Payton, tell us about your role as an intern at Holistic. What do you do? Who do you work with?

At Holistic, I primarily work with the Communications team, while also taking on any projects I can to help out the entire Holistic team. Some of my responsibilities include helping Maggie manage LinkedIn as well as work on Search Engine Optimization for our blog and website. I look forward to working on more projects in the future and getting to know everyone at Holistic!

Where do you currently go to school? What do you study? Can you share a few of your career goals with us?

I am a rising Senior at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, studying International Business with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Spanish. After graduating, I hope to further expand my Spanish-speaking skills and work abroad in Spain to better understand how businesses run internationally. I then hope to take that knowledge and utilize it in my future career after returning to the states.

What makes you excited about working for Holistic?

I'm excited to learn more about how marketing and communications run in a business setting. I have worked with marketing projects in the past but I look forward to seeing how it runs at Holistic and work with this team. I feel like there is so much to learn and I can't wait to utilize this experience and learn everything I can!

Who is someone you admire?

I admire my grandmother, she raised three boys in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and taught elementary school for almost 30 years. She is kind, funny, and someone I could talk to for hours (I also got my love for reading from her). I hope to be more like her and love her dearly!

What do you do for fun?

In my free time, I love exploring and trying new things, anytime I'm in a new place I love trying new restaurants and foods I've never had before. One of my favorite new dishes I just tried was shakshuka! When I'm at home, I like to crochet and read, I'm always up for a good book recommendation!

Lastly, what's the coolest place you've ever visited?

One of the coolest places I've ever visited is Orcas Island, Washington. You have to travel by ferry to get there and the island is absolutely beautiful! We went hiking and whale watching while we were there, and the town is super cute. I've also been to Costa Rica and got to go ziplining, hike on volcanoes and see incredible wildlife! Two very different trips, but both so fun!

Thank you for all that you do, Payton!
