Demonstrating the value of diversity and inclusion to executive leadership and crafting a strategy for DEI through the lens of leadership can pose a major challenge to many organizations. By initiating an open dialogue in the right environment, companies can address DEI and benchmark their progress in a thoughtful and thorough fashion. This begins with understanding a company’s own set of initiatives and placing these practices in context with competitors, industry, and best practices.

Our data processes and information collection allow companies to facilitate a discussion and workshop session that lets leaders talk through key issues and concerns, devise creative and feasible ideas, and walk away with real action items involving the role of measurement to move the needle on employee engagement.

Elements of the session include the following:

1. Assess the Current State of DEI at Company

We begin by interviewing key members of the company’s HR or People team to uncover the biggest issues and challenges, as well as learning more about current systems in place by evaluating policy and data information.

2. Facilitate Executive DEI Workshop

After reviewing our initial findings and in-depth conversations, we build customized modules tailored to the needs and desires of the company. Through the use of surveys and adult learning principles, we structure the workshop in a way that allows discussion to flourish and participants to walk away feeling heard and motivated to take action.

3. Post Session Report and Action Plan

Following the workshop, we will provide an internal report to summarize key session takeaways. We then delve deeper into understanding the company and competition to define concrete goals. We provide guidance to the company and help to map out a feasible action plan and accompanying timeline, as well as suggest creative ways to publicize and celebrate accomplishments along the way.

We will continue to keep up the momentum through periodic check-ins with leadership that ensure progress is being made and execution is on track.
