Choosing the right people experience partner is an important decision. At Holistic, we work with organizations to better understand their people, strengthen workplace systems, and build employee experiences that are more inclusive, data-informed, and sustainable. These FAQs are designed to answer common questions about who we work with, how our services are structured, and what organizations can expect when partnering with us.

We work with clients from all industries. We have had particular success in three industries: technology, professional services, and nonprofits. We have worked with companies large and small ranging from retail companies to manufacturing companies to tech companies. The smallest company we’ve worked with had nine employees; the largest had over 50,000. We have had particular success working with companies that have specific challenges, such as dispersed workforces, or international offices with particular challenges with diversity, equity and inclusion or the employee experience.
-
Yes, we absolutely work with nonprofits. Nonprofits have been some of the best clients in our company’s history, and we’ve had a great experience partnering with nonprofit organizations. We also understand that nonprofits face a specific challenge today when it comes to attracting talent. With an increased focus on purpose throughout the workforce, nonprofits are often competing for the same talent as for-profit companies, while needing to clearly communicate the value of mission-driven work. At this time, we do not offer a nonprofit discount.
-
Yes to both. Our clientele include national and international organizations. We work with clients with multiple offices around the world, and we have many clients with offices around the United States. We also have many clients that either have geographically dispersed workforces or have gone to some sort of hybrid model during the pandemic. Two of our specialties are helping companies with engagement of geographically dispersed workforces and helping companies with international operations normalize DEI across their whole organization. Oftentimes, the way that folks are interacting with diversity, equity, and inclusion overseas and the way that we think about it here in the States are markedly different, so companies with offices overseas are a particular challenge we have experience with addressing.

The majority of our clients work with us through a Holistic subscription, where we provide day-to-day consulting and support across the employee experience. A lot of what we do is customized, so our work can include things like surveys, data analysis, training, ERG support, values work, and whatever people-related needs come up for the organization. We also support clients throughout the employee lifecycle, including attracting talent, onboarding, retention, development, performance management, and offboarding.
-
The vast majority of our clients choose a subscription model, in which Holistic (and its products) sit as an extension of your team and your efforts. These subscription packages can include one or more of the following offerings:
Fractional DEI Resources – Holistic teammates offer consulting time and additional customizable services including lunch and learns, executive office hours, DEI book club facilitation, dynamic employee handbook development, mission statement development, and job description audits.
Complete access to technology services and other Holistic resources.
An assortment of company trainings.
-
Yes. All of our subscriptions are customizable.
-
Pricing depends on a few different factors, including the size of the organization, the type of support needed, and the scope of the partnership. For smaller organizations, Holistic subscriptions start at $3,500 per month.
-
All of our clients are unique, there is no one size fits all. We can work with you based on your needs whether that includes training or not.
-
Trainings are available to purchase for a single session, or more. You do not need to be a subscription client of Holistic to receive training services.
-
We have a wide variety of trainings that we offer under our tab, What We Do. If you would like to customize your training or want something that you do not see offered, we are more than happy to create a training in the topic you want. We are constantly updating, evolving and creating new trainings for our clients.
-
We also provide free resource guides, monthly cultural calendars, webinars, and pulse surveys that are open to the public.

Item description

People experience is the full experience someone has with an organization, from how they are attracted and hired to how they are onboarded, supported, developed, retained, and eventually offboarded. At Holistic, we look at the employee experience across the full lifecycle and help organizations understand what is working, what is not, and where there are opportunities to build a better workplace.
-
People spend a lot of time at work, so it matters whether they feel valued, supported, heard, and able to do meaningful work. A strong employee experience helps organizations attract talent, retain people, build trust, and create workplaces where employees can actually thrive. Our work is focused on helping organizations build environments where people want to stay and do their best work.
-
We do not just collect data, hand over a report, and leave clients to figure out the rest. We work with organizations to understand the data, identify clear next steps, and support implementation. A lot of our work is customized because every organization has different people, challenges, goals, and context.
-
We help implement them. Our goal is not to give clients a binder of recommendations that sits on a shelf. We partner with organizations through the next steps, help build action plans, and support the work of creating real change over time.
-
We help organizations understand what employees are saying, identify the most important themes, and turn that feedback into practical next steps. That may include action planning, leadership conversations, training, communication support, or ongoing implementation support.
-
We use data to help organizations better understand what employees are experiencing. That can include surveys, dashboards, metrics, and other tools that look at areas like engagement, equity, inclusion, fairness, opportunity, retention, and more. The goal is not just to collect data, but to use it to tell a clearer story and guide action.

DEI stands for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. In terms of what each of them means, we start by asking our clients what they think each of these terms mean. One of the things we’ve learned over the past few years is that each of us has a very specific definition of these terms, reflective of our environment, our lived experience, our personal history and philosophy. It is critical that we respect each of our individual viewpoints and that as we form company-wide viewpoints on these matters, we embrace a variety of perspectives and experiences. Loosely speaking, for Holistic:
Diversity is about bringing different perspectives and backgrounds, lived experiences and demographics together. It is about the exciting things that happen when we bring people together from wherever they are and create an environment where these perspectives and experiences can be brought to bear.
Equity is about fairness, about treating people with consistency and respect and providing equal access to opportunity.
Inclusion is about actively making people feel welcome and focusing on belonging and involvement. What are we doing to embrace our fellow employees, our colleagues, our friends? How can we be present and available and make space for their viewpoints, perspectives and experiences?
-
DEI is part of the broader people experience. It helps organizations understand whether employees have fair access to opportunity, whether people feel included, and whether workplace systems support different experiences and needs. When DEI is connected to the employee experience, it becomes more practical, measurable, and sustainable.

You do not need to know exactly what service you need before reaching out. Many clients come to us with a challenge, a goal, or a question about their people, and we help determine the right starting point. Because Holistic’s work is flexible and customized, we can talk through what kind of support makes the most sense.
-
The best way to get started is to reach out and tell us a little about your organization, your goals, and the people-related challenges you are trying to solve. From there, we can talk through your needs and figure out whether a subscription, a specific project, or another type of partnership is the right fit.
