Welcome, Han!

We’re excited to introduce Han Lee, one of our fall interns! Learn more about his role as an intern, what he does for fun, and what excited him about life.

Tell us about your role as an intern at Holistic. What do you do? Who do you work with?

In my first couple weeks at Holistic as an intern, I have been assisting Tanja shape the onboarding process as well as Tom and Sebastian with business development. I also help out wherever I can with any client-facing projects.

We’re interested in learning more about your background. Can you tell us more about your career journey?

I am a junior at Northwestern, where I study a unique major called Learning & Organizational Change. I am also minoring in Business and wrapped up my certificate in Civic Engagement last spring. Although I am still not set on any career path, I am mainly interested in nonprofits and the human resources field. I also think an exciting position for me personally would be working on community development and outreach for a professional sports team, as it integrates my passion for sports with my experience in nonprofits, outreach, and event planning.

Let’s switch gears. What excites you about life? What gives you hope? What keeps you up at night?

What excites me about life is being able to travel to new places around the world. I love going on outdoor adventures, exploring cool museums, trying new foods, learning about history, and just being fully immersed in another culture. I plan to study abroad in London later this school year, so I am really looking forward to that as it will be my first time in Europe!

People standing up together for what they believe in, especially my generation, gives me hope for the future of our world. Topics surrounding climate change, racial justice, and global poverty are issues that I think about a lot, but as an optimist, I believe that we can get through any challenge or difficulty as long as youth/young adults are in a position where their voices are heard and can make serious impact and change.

What's the most helpful piece of advice you've ever received, and why?

The most helpful piece of advice I’ve received is from my former youth group mentor who told me never to limit myself by being passive. He told me to stand up for myself, speak up, and to always strive to be a leader in every setting, especially in times when it gets difficult.

If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do with it?

If I had an extra hour, I would use that time for myself to recharge during the day, whether that be taking a nap, watching funny YouTube videos, or taking a walk.

Lastly, What do you do for fun?

When I’m free, I like to hang out at the lakefill or play pickup basketball at the gym with my friends. In the evenings, I also like to play my guitar and write music, or watch a hockey game if it’s on (Go Leafs!).

Thanks for everything you do, Han!
