  • Who: Common Threads, a nonprofit organization that equips families with cooking and nutrition education to encourage healthy habits.

  • What’s the big idea 💡: Common Threads recently launched their virtual summer camp to provide students with fun activities and healthy recipes that promote a healthy lifestyle.

  • Why it works: As lots of families find themselves struggling to find ways to incorporate education into their routine, virtual summer camps are crucial for kids. This free option allows kids to learn about healthy recipes while also participating in some fun fitness activities.

  • (Not so) hidden value: Common Threads worked quickly to adapt to the current situation we are living through in order to best provide for students and families. This free program allows kids across the nation to learn more about nutrition from the comfort of their home. Although Common Threads is all about practicing healthy habits, Common Threads has created a well rounded program that incorporates art, mindfulness, dance, yoga, and of course wellness. This is especially important right now to help students who do not have access to child care, summer camp, tutors, or other methods of education. This summer camp is helping 200 students develop their skills so they can be better prepared for the start of school this upcoming fall.
