Maya, tell us about your role as an intern at Holistic. What do you do? Who do you work with?

My primary role at Holistic is to support the internal Holistic team and help out where I can. So far, I’ve crafted the Holistic Employee Handbook, worked with the communications team on organizing analytical data, sat in on client meetings and taken notes, and much more! I work with nearly everyone in Holistic and am excited to get to work on more projects!

Where do you currently go to school? What do you study? Can you share a few of your career goals with us?

I am a rising third-year student at Northwestern University. I’m studying Learning and Organizational Change in the School of Education and Social Policy with a minor in Economics and a certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications. In the future, I hope to work in the business world, specifically in human capital consulting or human resources. I’m hoping to use the skills I’ve learned through my major and my position at Holistic to contribute to positive organizational change in my future endeavors.

What makes you excited about working for Holistic?

I’m excited to learn! While I’ve only been an intern for about two weeks, I’ve feel like I’ve already learned so much. I feel like my professional skills have grown, and I’ve learned a lot about the ins and outs of a startup. I’m excited to keep learning and contributing to the Holistic team!

Who is someone you admire?

I genuinely admire everyone on the Holistic team. Everyone I’ve met so far is hardworking and passionate about what they do, but also extremely kind and helpful. So many team members have gone out of their way to set up a time to get to know me and help me with roadblocks I might run into. It’s been an incredible experience so far to work with such a dedicated team, and I’m truly inspired by everyone I’ve met at Holistic so far!

What do you do for fun?

In my free time, I love to bake! I have a major sweet tooth, so I’m always in the kitchen trying out new recipes. Most recently, I made double chocolate chip cookies. I like to bake larger quantities of things so that I can give my creation to friends and family!

Lastly, if you had an extra hour each day, what would you do with it?

If I had an extra hour each day, I would definitely use it to go on walks. I love to walk around my neighborhood while blasting music or listening to a new podcast.

Thank you Maya for all of your support!
