Intern Highlight: Matthew

We’re excited to introduce Matthew Zhang, one of our interns! Check out our recent interview with Matthew where we learn more about his role as an intern, future career goals, what he does for fun, and more!

  1. Tell us about your role as an intern at Holistic. What do you do? Who do you work with?

At Holistic, I possess a wide range of responsibilities. Mostly I work with our wonderful client services and data team to produce our final deliverables and ensure that all of our clients’ needs are satisfied. Additionally, I also spend time working with the Holistic communications team, wherein I am involved with creating social media content highlighting notable achievements by our clients as well as promoting Holistic-sponsored events.

  2. Where do you currently go to school? What do you study? Can you share a few of your career goals with us?

I am currently a junior at Northwestern University studying Economics and Social Policy with a minor in Business Institutions. I hope to leverage my education to pursue a career with a business that is as passionate about generating profit as they are creating social good.

  3. What’s something you are proud of since joining Holistic?

Since I’ve joined Holistic, I’ve been incredibly proud of the overall dedication and passion that the entire team puts into their respective projects. Regardless of the task at hand, I’ve witnessed each team member really pour themselves into their work. That inner drive to produce the best product possible is a trait that I continue to try and emulate from my coworkers.

  4. What’s something that has surprised you since joining Holistic?

Everyone is so nice here! It makes the overall internship experience overwhelmingly pleasant and welcoming which is great because I never feel forgotten as a team member. Holistic really provides you with a plethora of avenues through which you can hone your existing skills, as well as plenty of new opportunities to develop new talents.

  5. What do you do for fun?

Volleyball is a huge part of my life as I am a team manager/practice player for the Northwestern women’s team as well as a member of the men’s club team on campus. I’ve played since middle school and the sport is an awesome way for me to both stay active and engage with two great communities, especially during the pandemic.

Thank you Matthew for all of your support!
